Hotel Maria Maria - Bacalar

The staff members at this hotel exhibited such a distinct lack of cheer-especially the counter lady, who seemed like she was perpetually angry. The internet was unbelievably slow. I woudl ve been thrilled with a room upgrade. Instead, I received nothing but disappointment. It's a wonder I almost wrote a good review, but I just couldn't.

Exceptionally comfortable bed in the a double room, plus terrace and it's own balcony. The location marvellous and awesome within the walking distance to the shore. Short walk to center of town, and square.

it was a fantastic stay, stunningly beautiful and absolutely charming place. everything was great, brilliant location not far from restaurants, the laguna, and lake and center of town, kind staff. i truly enjoyed double room with a view. there were a terrace and a balcony provided.

The hotel has a fantastic location, only two minutes from the lagoon where we enjoyed swimming and kayaking. The spacious room had large windows that flooded in light, and the dogs loved the large terrace where they could relax. Breakfast was good, with fresh fruit and eggs to start our busy days.

For dads, it would be great to have a small playground for kids.

The hotel was in a magnificent location, within the walking distance to the shore. It was also very close to restaurants, bars & lagoon, and square. The room was recently renovated, had essentials, like a shower, hairdryers and bath sheets. The staff was extremely friendly, the beds were large.

Room was clean with a comfy bed, but the Wi-Fi was annoyingly slow.

Great time with friends! We loved the big clean room and the fine balcony. Close to the lagoon, we enjoyed swimming and visited the local restaurants. Breakfast was fresh and tasty.

The balcony doors needed a bit of maintenance, but it didn't ruin our experience. Just a small detail to note.

We had a blast! The staff was super friendly and even surprised us with room decorations when they learned it was our honeymoon. The breakfast was pretty good too, with fresh fruit and yogurt. Only thing is, the Wi-Fi was a lil' spotty at times, kinda annoying. But overall, an awesome stay!

Maria Maria is a charming gem tucked just a couple of blocks from the lagoon with cozy rooms that come with huge balconies providing a nice view of the greenery and a touch of the lagoon. Breakfast is a good feast, with fresh fruit, eggs, and savoury choices, served with a splash of local flair. Especially Georgina, go above and beyond to ensure a lovely stay-helping with recommendations.

The stay was delightful with a cozy room and a delicious full breakfast that made mornings special. The sun terrace and garden area offered perfect spots to unwind after a day of exploring. Just a heads-up, the water pressure in the bathroom was a bit low, but it didn’t bring me down one bit!

Consistently a great experience! the accommodations were top-notch - spacious rooms with a terrace and balcony, as well as a nice big veranda. We paid around gbp 986 💸.

The room was cozy with a nice balcony view. Perfect for an evening breeze. It seemed like home, just minutes from the lagoon, and the big windows let in tons of light!
